Poetry on Loan – promotes contemporary poetry through public libraries in the West Midlands. Some super content.
Perform-a-poem – super website from Michael Rosen on how to encourage children to perform poetry out loud.
Poetry Out Loud – home site of American poetry competition. Contains links to inspirational performances and tips on how to receite poetry. Useful resource.

www.nationalpoetryday.co.uk – official website of the national day with downloadable resources for teachers. Also linked from the Forward Arts Foundation.

The Poetry Foundation – US-based massive resource of poetry, mainly for adults. Includes readings by many poets themselves, plus detailed classroom ideas for studying poems. This is a link to their children’s section.
Poetry by Heart – a rich resource featuring some wonderful poets. It could inspire a competition in your own school!
